Is dull, wrinkled ginger root still edible?

    Yes it is. When food is no good to eat it's generally obvious: looks awful, smells awful, tastes awful. 

    The exception is botulism. Never take a chance with botulism.

    If it is not dried out, then yes.

    Yes as long as it's still juicy inside. I used some last night.

    Yes, you could peel it [the best that you can], chop it fine and use as usual.

    Or if just using it for flavouring [in lemonade for example], just chop it roughly and use to add to a sugar syrup base.

    It is safe, might not have much moisture or be very stringy and/or lack flavor.
