Is Rosh Hashana based in Genesis? When God created the Earth?

Is it just the New Year celebration or it is related to the creation of the Earth, animals and Adam by God? What is the meaning of Rosh Hashana for Jews?

Rosh Hashana is the day that "Adam HaRishon" (the "first person") was created.

Literally - it is not a celebration as the January 1 holiday is - Rosh Hashana is the day when Jews reassert that God is the real King. It marks the beginning of the 10 Days of Repentance, which ends on Yom Kipur

"The biblical name for this holiday [Rosh Hashanah] is Yom Teruah (יוֹם תְּרוּעָה‎), literally "day of shouting or blasting". It is the first of the Jewish High Holy Days [...]

[...] Numbers 29:1 calls the festival yom teru'ah ("day of blowing [the horn]")."
