If you're a Lord or a Lady are you considered aristocratic?
Are you sure about that. I've never heard Sir Andy Murray's wife described as Lady.

No. That makes you 'Gentry' You may come from an aristocratic family, but more often than not you are some jumped up politician, and - yes - getting a knighthood allows your wife to call herself 'Lady'. Knighthoods are very much not aristocracy, they are people who have given dodgy accounting services to some local politico in a far off hot country, or perfected the 'hop, skip and jump' or won a Gold medal for pushing a bicycle about.

A Lord, yes, "Lady" is more complicated. Many people titled "Lady" are aristocrats, but some are the wives of knights ("Sir"), and are therefore not aristocrats.
