Why are bees so attracted to me? ?

I hike the same route. Some yellow jackets showed up and started flying around me and getting aggressive. They sometimes dart into me and try to attack. Occasionally there has been more then one attacking me directly at the same time. A few ideas,

1 I smoke cigarettes

2. I chew gum

3. This time of year

Even garlic and wormwood have failed to repel them. And people swear by these herbs

Wasps are technically different than bees.  Maybe you smell like a food they consume. Maybe they sense moisture and salt. Honestly, idk.

Probably you are a regular threat to their airspace or nest. A simple change in route could make a difference. Also wear dark clothing instead of bright colors. But, change your path around their habitat and see if this changes their behavior. A simple adding 5 minutes and going on a different path to same destination would change this. Good luck.
