    Most flowers like to hang out in bunches. [< my attempt at a humorous answer.] ... and one flower even is "Forget me not."

    No. I don't think they are sentient in that regard. If they grow better with others around that would be for things like pollination necessary to produce fruit and berries. They are more intelligent than many humans, but that isn't really saying much. But if you are worried they might be lonely, you should talk to them.
