Can you tile over dry wall and what do you use to do it ?

    Yes. "Tile glue." {maybe grout ....} - Ask at any home improvement store.  My point is if you are remodeling around a tub / in a place with moisture they make a "green" (color) ["green board"] drywall which is more water resistant.

    Yes, backspashes in kitchens are done over drywall as well as decorative tile can always be put over drywall using standard drywall adhesive.  In bathrooms, you have a whole other kettle of fish...  What is your project?

    In a house I recently remodeled, we took out a tub and found Tile over Drywall, over tile over drywall. Yeah, drywall layers and tile layers. We also found mold, as you can guess.  You can't guarantee a permanently dry seal with just grout and drywall adhesive.

    its done in uk all the time ..we use tile adhesive ..available mainly in 10 litre tubs ..
