    what is the question? solve for x??

    a bit ambiguous, so I'll take order of precedence

    (2/x) + (1/6) - x = 1

    multiply by 6x

    12 + x – 6x² = 6x

    6x² + 5x – 12 = 0

    x = –(5/12) ± (1/12)√313

    or is this

    (2/x) + (1/(6–x)) = 1  ??

    but that would be incorrect. With no parans, precedence is used.
