no they attempt to cook and gradually become better at dishes and try to impress the husband, the kids, and the rest of family. many mothers learn cooking just like the rest of us,but definitely more motivated.

Chef is a job title, not a family chore.

Apparently you have never met MY mother. She can't cook her way out of a paper bag. This is why Both her kids became professional chef's.

Certainly not. (My mother's cooking comes to mind. Not in a good way.)
But most mothers are, at some level, cooks.
