Is earth flat or round?

The earth is a huge sphere with a radius of 6371 kilometers. So obviously it's round. But we feel that it is flat because of its vastness. As we go higher up in space, we immediately realize that it's not flat but it's round.

It is SO BIG it looks flat and effectively is flat Locally----, BUT get high enough and far away enough from it and it will reveal itself to be, visually,

     a SPHERE

    Neither.

Round and flat are both 2-dimensional shapes.

The Earth is a sphere (a 3-dimensional shape).  Technically its an oblate spheroid, but sphere is close enough.

Right around here, it's fairly flat but there are a few hills.

It is relatively flat over a very short scale (hundreds of meters or so).  On a larger scale, it is obviously very close to spherical.  The curvature can be observed over distances of a few km, and it never goes away the further you measure.
