They're not supposed to be allowed on the Supreme Court, but Republicans in charge love cheating to get their way - in fact, they're proud of it. That's the one thing they have in common with Trump, he's the king of cheaters.

Why do you feel the need to drag Sotamayer or Elena Kagan into this?

None of them are supposed to be biased.. all of them are.  This is the society we live in now.

The reason SCOTUS was created with lifetime appointments was to keep it elevated from the inherent biases of having to run for elected office. But this was done at a time before political parties existed. It's the party system that's turned the judiciary into just another branch of the politicized mess that is government.

They take a vow to be unbiased but whether or not they are, is a matter of opinion. They CAN be impeached (Samuel Chase 1805). The good ones write an explanation about why they voted the way they did. I'll give you a couple contrasting examples.

Plessy v Fergusson (1896) decided on separate but equal. Seven SC votes for, 1 against and one no vote. Many consider this among the worst SC decisions as it facilitated rampant racism. It was overturned (de facto) in 1954 by Brown v Board of Education and subsequently the Civil Rights Act was passed 10 yrs. later.

By contrast, the so-called conservative SC upheld 2 rep challenges to the ACA ... once 5-4 and once 6-3.

The ones conservatives like are biased in favor of the Constitution as written and ratified.

Not the ones who fabricate rights and re-write laws based on nothing but their own personal beliefs.

They are all biased.  The issue now is that six of them are biased one way and three are biased the other.  So now the SCOTUS is biased in favor of those six.

Of the three branches of Federal government, the SCOTUS is the only one that does not have term limits.  And that invites the creation of a branch of government that approaches autocracy.  Why?  Because there is no way to get the SCOTUS members out of office.

So by their SCOTUS rulings over a long period they can slowly erode the protections of checks and balances that the Constitution started out with.  When those are gone, we have a dictatorship. And the way the SCOTUS is now biased, it will be a right-wing dictatorship...fascism.
