X varies inversely as y^2
so x = k/y^2 for some constant k.
x=6 when y=8
Substitute those values in x = k/y^2 and solve for k to figue out what k is.
Substitute y = 2 and the k value you found in x = k/y^2 to find x.

x = ky²
plug in the numbers to find k
6 = k8²
k = 6/64 = 3/32
therefore eq is x = (3/32)y²
x(2) = (3/32)(2)² = (3/32)8 = 3/4
