What is your favorite type of hummus?

    The one that has roasted onion in it,  or roasted red pepper either.

    The original, with chickpeas, tahina, garlic, chili and salt, maybe a little lime too.

    There's a really nice hummus at Trader Joe's that has cilantro and jalapeno. I like that quite a lot.

    I'm with your anonymous responder on this in that I make my own basic hummus without adding different flavours other than a bit of garlic for its medicinal benefits. And parsley helps to reduce the smell on the breath!

    The classic type with chickpeas, tahini paste, lemon juice and a touch of olive oil.  Since "hummus" is just Arabic "chickpea" it's not really hummus if it's just a random vegetable mash.

    I consider hummus the catalyst in my compost heap.
