Why was Lot ready to sacrifice his daughters to protect the Angels from the lustful mob?
Why was being a good host more important than being a good father.

Protecting your guests is more important that anything else.

The Bible called Lot a righteous man, who was distressed by the lawless deeds of the people around him in Sodom. 2 Peter 2:7.
So instead of assuming that he cold-heartedly offered his daughters to the men who wanted to rape the angels, it would be wiser to consider that he had another reason for saying what he did.
He knew that mighty, supernatural angels were there to save them from the upcoming destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah. So the angels were not about to allow any harm to come to any of them.
Also, the men who surrounded them preferred men to women to have sex with, so likely as he expected, they rejected that offer and threatened to "do worse" to Lot for having made that offer. Also, since the daughters were betrothed to two of the male Sodomites, it could have caused some confusion and dispute among them at the prospect of assaulting women who were promised to their kinsmen.
It was at this point when the angels, who were there to keep them safe, acted to protect Lot and his family by afflicting the Sodomite men with blindness. They then seized their hands and brought them out of that entire district - and Lot's wife, who coveted the things that they had to leave behind, looked back, and became a pillar of salt.
So Lot was NOT ready to sacrifice his daughters to protect the angels. He knew that Jehovah, through those powerful angels, would protect them from any harm. And He did.Source(s): The Bible, and www.jw.org where there is an article about this incident.

In those times, as in some Christian denominations today, women were considered on about the same level as any other livestock.

Lot lived there... he knew that they wouldn't take his daughters any more than Elton John would....
Probably a last ditch effort to distract them from the terrible crimes they wanted to commit...
The angels proceeded to blind them all.
May all those with rape on their mind be blinded in the Mighty Name of Jesus! (if they refuse to repent that is).

Lot could have been confident that, if it was Jehovah’s will, God would protect his daughters even as God had already protected Sarah in Egypt. And the daughters were kept safe.
This account is a valuable part of the Bible. It serves to accentuate Sodom and Gomorrah’s badness, it stirs up indignation in righteous ones who read it, and it manifests God’s disapproval of homosexuality. Also, this account helps us to appreciate the Bible’s assurance that God is righteous and just—he does not countenance wickedness. (Deut. 32:4) And we can trust that God is equally perfect and just in his judgment that Lot was a “righteous man.”Source(s): jw.org

Although Lot had at first entertained angels unawares, he later may well have realized that they were messengers from God.
Hence, Lot could have felt that, as deeply attached to his daughters as he was, he would be willing to sacrifice them if necessary.
Also, Lot could have been confident that, if it was Jehovah’s will, God would protect his daughters even as God had already protected Sarah in Egypt.
And the daughters were kept safe.

Because Lot was bisexual and also loved incest.
He wanted to hump those Angels before he raped and impregnated his daughters.

Women were virtually worthless in that society.

Because that is the way the story was written. Whoever writes the story can make it any way desired.
