    maybe they were trying to fill seats in the stands by getting a big name manager.  even if he's plus 70 and an alcoholic.  but then again, that could make games more interesting.  lol.  or at least entertaining.

    This has happens time and time again in MLB history. Managers are recycled over and over regardless of their records.  Casey Stengel was never a good manager until the Yankees hired him. It's a good ol boy network.
