Because in our greed for greater profits and rampant throwaway consumerism , we let all our manufacturing jobs go to China. UK even had to buy PPE for Covid 19 from the country that started it ffs!
China’s foreign aid, is akin to the foreign “aid” Britain gave to the world at the height of the Empire and colonialism.
They build some basic infrastructure in return for exploiting the country’s natural resources particularly minerals.

It's simple. They use slave labour to produce cheap stuff. Money is always a factor in trade.
And China gives plenty of foreign aid. How do you think North Korea still exists?

China has provided assistance with infrastructure projects in some poor countries, particularly in Africa.

Because they can manufacture their items very cheaply and make a huge profit by slave labour.
Even Honda motorcycles are made over there to keep costs down.

They give "aid" but they don't have strings attached to that money like other countries.
