How do people survive getting shot ?

Police on my street carrying an assault rifle shot a guy on a violent robbery spree and was hit about 5 or 6 times but still managed to survive and is expected to make a full recovery until he faces trial. How did he survive that? They looked like they popped the guy dead but he was still breathing and responding. Seems like some people are immune to bullets.

The number of bullets is irrelevant. Other than the heart or brain, medical treatment can usually keep a person alive. Dying from a single bullet usually only happens in the movies.

It's not the number of shots, or even the caliper of the bullets.

It's where exactly hit, and how quickly treated.

The human body is amazing. People survive all sorts of stuff. Just remember he had help to survive - doctors, nurses and machines.

As long as no major organs are hit, most people will survive if they get medical attention right away.
