As a true neutral many colors will go with grey.  I like pinks, purples, plums, wine, maroon and bold blues.  Think cool, bold and brilliant. I would avoid warm reds, warm greens, spring green, orange, browns and yellow. For the love of all that's stylish never pair gray and yellow.   Also  the two basics -black and white - look sharp and sophisticated with grey. Any combination of grey, black, white and accented with purple, pink, plums etc will look well coordinated and super stylish. It's why grey is reccomended as one of the best colors to build a wardrobe.

Other colors I love with grey, dusty rose, pink quartz, jewel tones like garnet, ruby, amethyst, and sapphire;  pale pastel tints like lilac, mauve, aqua, sky blue etc. Grey can take the boldest most opulent tones and look amazing.

That is a neutral color. You can really wear any color with it. It depends on what you are wearing it.

Almost anything, really. A crisp white shirt looks great with a charcoal suit. A deep or bright red tie.

Or a medium to light blue shirt.

Women's fashion often gets to experiment more with colors. Pale or bright pink, lavender, yellow, mint green, Kelly green, pea green, wheat or buttermilk yellow, burnt orange... all combine well with dark grey.

The only colors I wouldn't combine with charcoal are dark purple, navy blue, deep shades of brown, and beige.
