You can pursue it, but there is no guarantee that you will be accepted at a law enforcement agency.

A lot of people assume that if you want to be a police officer, departments require a degree in criminal justice. In fact, most departments don’t even require a degree. And you could become a police officer with any university degree.

If you are really interested in the subject, I certainly wouldn’t discourage you from majoring in criminal justice.  But it’s a lot easier to get a job if you have a degree in nursing or computer science.
