Well, I surely remember my childhood in the mid 60s. 

I was 13 in 1965 and there were 2 main places to get a large cheese with pepperoni thin crust pizza in my neighborhood. 

The "party store" sold it for 90¢ and the other place, right across the street, an Italian bakery, charged $1. 

It might have been like 1968 or 1969 when it went up to $1.10 at the bakery. 

Neither store sold pizza by the slice.  I never saw pizza by the slice until the mid 1970s in my area.

If I remember correctly a slice of pizza was a quarter 55 years ago.
