Is it fair to say that,  America won its war of independence against Britain thanks to France?

Once those french frogs arrived with their mighty army and ships to save you yanks,  we decided to end our rule there.

let it be known and known well, that we did NOT lose any war, we just opted not to waste our resources fighting any further.

how accurate am I on this ?

The first part of your rant about the French contains some accuracy.

"let it be known and known well, that we did NOT lose any war,"

    This pronouncement is just nonsense.

Yes Cornwallace surrendered his sword to the French who Insulted the Vanquished by refusing to take it

But Karma paid the French back in 1940

There were more Hessians fighting for the British than French for the Americans. The Americans won several battles before the French helped, in fact, that's why the French decided to help.

@ armouror, Cornwallis refused to attend the surrender ceremony. The officer he sent in his place try to give the surrender sword to French General Rochambeau but he refused to accept it and directed him to George Washington, Washington also refused to accept it and he directed the British officer to General Benjamin Lincoln, Washington's second in command. Lincoln accepted the sword, then promptly gave it back to the British officer.

If it hadn't been for the French fleet, the USA would be part of Canada.
