what kind of dog does this sound like? ?

My grandma used to have this small dog with golden curly hair and the long flappy ears

    I asked her and she said it was a cocker spaniel.

    How SMALL?  An ASCOB Cocker Spaniel and a long haired Chihuahua (as examples) are very different in size.
