Dinosaurs are classified as reptiles because that is what they were classified as being quite a while ago before their characteristics were fully known.
In fact, most reptiles splay their legs to their sides with their bodies slung between their legs. Reptiles are also cold-blooded.
In contrast, dinosaurs positioned legs under their bodies over their legs in way similar to mammals and birds. It also appears that many of the species of dinosaurs were at least mesothermal, and some were very likely fully endothermal. Going along with that, several species of dinosaurs had feathers, which probably evolved for insulation. These characteristics indicate that dinosaurs were much more active and could tolerate cooler conditions than most reptiles can.
Birds descended from small, winged, feathered theropod dinosaurs. They also had teeth. Numerous fossils of different species of these kinds of dinosaurs have been found. They similar to archaeopteryx, which was first such fossil to have been found.
See the image below which shows an archaeopteryx fossil and a comparison between its skeleton and that of a chicken.

They were SAURIANS, Sort of like reptiles ---But warm blooded and likely with feathers. They differed from birds, as they had TEETH and could not fly.-----But it would be easy to see how they could have evolved into the birds we have today.

Yes, they are reptiles. BTW, what you know is that SOME paleontologists claim that birds are descended from dinosaurs. Personally, I am dubious about that and suspect that birds branched off the reptiles before there were any dinosaurs.

No. They have reptile ancestors but aren't reptiles any more. Similarly, mammals are also derived from reptiles, but aren't reptiles.
...and you're not a monkey.
