Easy to grow seeds for my grandson?

Just go to the kitchen and get a cake pan, paper towels, a cup of water and some dried beans.  Roll beans up in paper towel ( six to a roll and four rolls) and put in pan..  Pour in enough water to keep it wet.  Set in the sunshine.  Look at change in beans every day.  Keep it wet.  When sprouts are 2 inches long, plant 2 or 3 in a small pot of loose dirt.  Eat the remaining sprouts.  Care for the potted plant.

Mustard cress, it will grow on a piece of damp kitchen roll on a plastic tray, We used to grow broad bean shoots in a jam jar lined with damp blotting paper, you can tuck a few broad beans down the side of the jar between the jar side and the damp paper,
