Has anyone on here had a parent with dementia? If so, how did you cope? My dad has it and it's hard on the family. ?

my father had altzheimers but he was in a home when he had it

You are right. Dementia affects everyone in the family, as well as friends and other associates, not just the person who has it.  There are support groups available, ask your father's doctors or go on line to locate resources in your community. Bottom line: you do what you can, and try to accept what you cannot change. Good wishes,
