We are programmed by millions of years of evolution to find a mate and reproduce. That's the libido, or sex drive.

There is so much evidence that we are animals that the fact IS we are animals. We and apes share a common ancestor. We just happened to learn to talk.

Howbeit, acting badly does not = "godless animal;" such correlation does not rule out human soul.  Soul as evidenced in humanity is supposed to show self-reflection, hence movies about topics, based on mirror and empathy neurons.  Soul as realized in humans is claimed to be Self-realization...in the process of loving the Good, God, the soul-field begins to find itself in the True and the Real:  Plotinus' One Mind Soul.
