Why would they impeach Trump now with two weeks left?
Wouldn't the process take longer than that

Indeed. However, their thought is to make him ineligible to run in 2024. Additionally whenever sentenced in the Senate, he would lose his benefits and medical care and his free mystery administration insurance for the remainder of his life.
Sensible individuals should trust that after tempers quiet, that most who upheld Trump in the past will get some distance from him. I couldn't want anything more than to come up to a drive through window and hear his voice as he asks; Would you like fries with that?

So he will be ineligible to run in the future, just in case he somehow avoids felony prosection after he leaves office.

Yes it would. He only has 9 days left. but they're trying to send a message and they're also trying to bar him from running from political office again. Biden is against it, because that means when he enters, the senate will be to busy trying to impeach trump so he can't pass his new legislations

Because if they are successful(which they won't be without a complete ignoring of the law), then he can't run again. He's done nothing wrong. No violence was incited, and no man can be legally held accountable for someone else expanding what they said to ridiculous proportions and then acting on it.

Because he needs to be prevented from running from public office in future.

If Trump is impeached for the 2nd time by the constitution, Trump will never be able to legally hold public office again. Given that the insurrection on Capitol Hill happened in the name of Trump and Trump's response after was that they were only going to begin getting started. If Trump was unable to hold any public office ever again that would help to prevent Trump from inspiring violence again. He doesn't seem self-aware that he's influencing this behavior and when it happens he doesn't seem to care.
In his speech, he attacked that Governor for issuing shelter in place in her state. Then his supporters right after planned and were arrested for attempting to kidnap her. They brought a noose for Pence at Capitol Hill. People injected themselves with bleach. Intentional or not Trump has proven to be too dangerous to be in the public eye.
2nd Impeachment needs to happen to prevent Trump from ever-inspiring violence so he gain political office again.

We want to be sure that he doesn't EVER do anything dangerous again. In addition, this will ensure that he can't exonerate his crooked friends and family from legal action.
