Addictive chemicals are substances that you can ingest, inject, inhale, that are not beneficial to the maintenance/feeding of the human organism, but make the human organism want more!!!!

Such substances are, among others, Nicotine(tobacco), Cocaine(Coca leaves), Opium,  etc.,

These substances in a chemically altered form can used as pain-killers.

Cocaine, becomes lignocaine for dental injections; opium becomes morphine a general pain-killer for surgical operations.

Alcohol (ethyl alcohol/ethanol) in drinks, beers, wines and spirits can become addictive if over used (Alcoholism).

There is nothing truly addictive that is not a chemical.

Everything you can touch, including gases like air, is made of chemicals.
