Why has life long, "successful business man" rump's business taken a 60% hit in his 4 years in office?

He was visiting his properties an average of once every 3 days, and gouging the secret service with every visit.

He was NEVER a successful businessman.  He inherited his fortune and ran most of his businesses into the ground.

A 60% hit is chicken feed, normal and not unusual in the world of finance where most everything is run on credit. I think Trump will start his own media enterprise that will encompass and surpass the giants that have locked out free speech. There are so many that have been angered that his new endeavors will be well received by his vast array of supporters. A man of his stature and intelligence can not be held down long.

A lot of (or maybe all) of Trump's wealth was tied to the value of this brand.

In the past four years, that brand has taken a severe hit.

His golf courses are losing money.  His DC hotel is losing money.  The only profitable venture that he currently has is billing the government for him, his staff and his secret service detail for staying at his properties which, as you said, he gouges the heck out of.
