    In the diagram, triangle ABC is congruent to triangle DEF. 

    The values of x and y:

    x = 5 in, y = 20°

    7x + y = 55

    y = 55 - 7x

    eq2

    3x - 3 = 12

    3x  = 12 + 3

    3x = 15

    x = 5

    y = 55 - 7(5) = 20

    so

    7x + y = 7(5) + 20 = 55°  answer//

    3x - 3 = 3(5) - 3 = 12 in    answer//

    Since the triangles are congruent , then  AB = DE  & angle C = Angle F 

    12 = 3x - 3 & 55 = 7x + y 

    Hence 9 = 3x 

    x = 3 

    When x = 3 

    55 = 7(3) + y 

    55 = 21 + y 

    y = 34

    DE is 12 so x is 5

    7 x 5 = 35   55 - 35 = 20 so 7 = 20 I think .

    So x = 5 and y = 20 maybe .

    If they are congruent, 7x + y = 55 degrees, and 

    3x - 3 inches  = 12 inches

    You do the rest.
