No.  I think the focus on gender here is totally weird.

That statement is only somewhat true. Culture overall gets weaker the longer good times last because the concerns of the people get more and more petty as time moves on. Eventually this becomes highly self destructive and leads to bad times. 

Or put in another way, people are always looking to better their condition, so when times  are good and all their major concerns are dealt with they start moving to the remaining issues. When those issues are resolved they start creating problems out of their imagination and work to resolve them. Along the way in all of this entitlement sets in and people start believing they are owed a good life simply for existing as if the world itself exists for no other purpose then to serve them. Think of the people that want a guaranteed minimum income for doing nothing but not being dead. They are the most entitled people that the world has ever known or will ever know and they are likely to get their way.

No. The lower left image is of Bernie Sanders getting arrested while protesting against discrimination in the early 60's. Bernie was right then and he's still right now.
