Can the American bison ever rise again and roam around freely?

They will never have true freedom as gun laws will never be extended to bison - as is my understanding of US freedom.

Doubtful. There was a population in excess of 60 million in the late 18th century. Now, only about 500,000 bison currently exist on private lands and around 30,000 on public lands which includes environmental and government preserves. According to the IUCN, roughly 15,000 bison are considered wild, free-range bison not primarily confined by fencing.

Rise as before, I doubt it, but they are stable and numbers slowly increasing thanks to Midwest ranchers herding them.
60 million thereabouts.

No. They've interbred with cattle. There are no American bison left. They're all "cattalo."

Only in certain small areas of The Great Plains States. Never again like they used to.
