Item warranty problem?

I bought a SSD from amazon with 5 year warranty. I found out after recieving the item that it's not the fit I needed so I decided to sell it on gumtree and facebook marketplace. How will the next owner get their warranty of needed and what is needed to fufill the warranty? Do you need proof of purchase? Receipt?

It depends on how far the manufacturer is willing to go to help you. Any warranty with a time limit will require a receipt. It also depends on whether the warranty is transferrable or not.

The warranty has to extend to the 2nd owner, which it might not.  To find out read the fine print.
