What's wrong with living on benefits/welfare?

If the system is there and giving free money from tax payers. Then why is that wrong? Why wouldn't you wanna help those in need who are poor and born into poverty? Also why do people assume that people have NO life who are on the system and belittle them? What do you think the person does all day? Sit and stare at 4 walls with the same crusty t-shirt on or something.

It is fine to get through rough times, but it should not be a way of life.

So you're saying it's ok to threaten people with being caged, bashed, stabbed and raped.

PS Only an infant or a moron thinks what the govt gives is "free".

Some people take advantage of it. Most people don't like working. Of those that work, some do not earn much and live a miserable life. That's why some get angry when they meet somebody who doesn't work and is paid at the same time.

I met several people that faked a depression to take some time off work. In some cases, this time extended for more than a year.

Nothing wrong with collecting welfare benefits. It's being done in every state in the country by all folks under the sun.....and has been done this way for DECADES.

The hopeful master plan is to make small changes while on welfare and when your personal rocket ship is ready to disembark from the station, you can smile, wave goodbye  and never look back.

Nothing is wrong with it . You just shouldnt  stay in the same situation forever. You’re goal shouldn’t be to live off of welfare

It's not "free" if you're a taxpayer. But these programs were meant to be a temporary safety net rather than a generational standard of living. Most don't begrudge those born into poverty who are accepting benefits while actively working to improve their situations. It's when people just give up and accept living on government assistance forever that working folks who are paying the bills tend to get upset.

people like to cling to these myths:

    - capitalism provides full-employment

    - paid work is worth more than unpaid work

    - mortals who work make money come into existence

Look at it another way. Six friends go out for a meal, one has no money so the other five pay the bill. If two of them have no money, the other three pay, if three of them have no money, two pay and if four have no money, you have to pay, every time. Would you really be happy with that?

Mmmm! A Thumbs down, clearly someone doesn't mind feeding and clothing folk that don't want to work.

Almost everyone needs someone to look down on so they can feel superior.
