why do people twist the rubber bands on their masks?

    For some people, it makes the sides of the mask no longer gape open. For others, it creates a gap.

    It's surprisingly hard to get a mask that fits great, unless you sew and have basic knowledge of fitting.

    Not thinking properly. It usually creates a gap on each side of the face, so the masks become ineffective.

    Twisting the elastic bands that go around the ears make the mask fit tighter.
