Is it theoretically possible for someone born in the 19th century to have been on a plane?

    Sure. Franklin Roosevelt was the first president to fly while in office. And he was born in 1882.

    Then the pilots in WWI [1914 to 1918], would have to be over 18 years old too. So they all were born in the 1890s

    The first plane was invented just six years after the 19th century ended, so yes.  Many people who were born in the 19th century flew on planes

    Easily. Someone, say, born in 1899 would only have been 40 years old when DC-3 commercial airliners went into service.

    Considering that centenarians born in 1899 would have lived to at least 1999, I'd say that the possibility was there.

    Most people on the earliest flights were born in the 19th century. Amelia Earhart born in 1897.

    Sure. Commercial airline flights started to become somewhat common in the 1920s and '30s. So anyone who was at least 20 or 30-something years old on those flights would have been born in the 19th Century.
