What does it mean when people address you by your name first instead of saying Hi/Hey/Hello name?

Saying “Hi” and then a person's first name (or his or her last name with Mr., Mrs., Miss, or Ms. in front of it) is a nice way of greeting someone. It doesn't matter who else is around.

I think it is annoying because then the normal reaction is to respond with something like "Yeah, what?"
