Is the government rewarding laziness by extending the £20 bonus for those claiming Universal Credit until September?

Where is the incentive to find a job?

Update:

Alponse is wrong. Everyone on UC gets the extra 20 quid.

It's a disgrace as this is tax payers money and the rest of us have to work to keep these lazy sods. There is work if you look for it. Furlough should also be stopped.

No doubt there are habitual claimants who are lazy (i've known a few), but at the moment I'd tread carefully; The economy is in a bad state and people are finding themselves laid off through no fault of their own.

Pray that you don't end up in a situation that leaves you with no other choice than to claim universal credit. If you ever do though, try and remember the day you asked this question, £20 is nothing these days.

The incentive is that Universal Credit is not a living wage

What jobs? Thousands of businesses have gone bust here.

Singles don't get it, it's for families with kids. They are still expected to look for work or they are sanctioned, that is the incentive.
