Democrats want everybody to be slaves to the big corporate government oligarchy.  They will own everything and the citizens will have nothing.  Remember when Obama said to small business, "Somebody helped to create this unbelievable system, that WE have that ALLOWED you to thrive.  Somebody invested in roads and bridges.  If you've got a business, you didn't build that."  Guess what I am a small business owner with 10-15 employees and trust me no one in the government (whether state or federal) came out of the woodwork to help us get it running smoothly.  In fact, it made it harder to get things going every small step of the way.  Oh and has anyone noticed that big conglomerate corporations have gotten bigger and richer during the pandemic, while many small businesses are limping along, if not folding.  It is all a sign of things to come from the wonderful DNC and those that fund it.

The parties flipped positions. Remember, Southern whites were a voting block of Democrats called the Dixiecrats. After their failure to stop the Civil Rights movement, they joined the Republican Party recruited by the Republican  Southern Strategy which aimed at picking up disillusioned  white supremacists pissed off that they couldn’t stop the equality/justice movement.  They are today’s DixiePublicans. Remember, EVERY southern white Republican from today has ancestors from the 1950s and back who were staunch hardcore Democrats (Dixiecrats).

There's some other side theories out there saying that Lincoln was a bit of a socialist and tried to build railroads to enrich rich people at poor people's expense. They also say Lincoln freed the slaves only because the abolitionist pressured him to.

Actually the southern Democrats who were responsible for slavery during the Civil War are the modern-day Republicans.
